Community effort wins national award

beerXwin

Our donations to local causes and charities earned us a national highly commended award for community activities at BeerX, the national brewing business awards and festival of British brewing organised by the Society of Independent Brewers.

“We didn’t expect this so we’re absolutely delighted,” said MD Edward Wood (left), who received the award from Toby Perkins, Shadow Business Minister and Chesterfield MP, at the BeerX event in Sheffield.

“We’ve made donations from special brews to all sorts of community organizations over the years. Most recently, we gave a four-figure sum to the Wenlock Olympian Society raised from sales of WPB Athletes’ Ale, and we’ve donated significant amounts to bodies like the Shropshire Wildlife Trust, the Longmynd Hike organizers, Air Ambulance and the Flounders Folly Trust.”

  • Don’t forget to visit the first ever beer festival at The Plough, Wistanstow, this weekend (23-24 March) to try over a dozen guest beers from all over the place. The festival runs at the same time as the annual Vintage Motorcycle Show which is sponsored by Wood’s and takes place at Wistanstow Village Hall.
